SERVICE

fuel door actuator

AMOUNT PAID

$158.33
by JOAN from Portland, OR 97206

Chris is always prompt and early for his appointment. He is efficient and knowledgeable as to what needs to be done! He put in an Actuator (the new Actuator works fine) for the fuel pump door and little did we know that the culprit is the spring on the actual door not letting it release so Chris fixed the door accessible while we try to find a part for the door itself. That will not be easy as the Beetle is 18years old but we are trying! Thanks Chris!

Chris was friendly and helpful. He fixed a couple minor things quickly and easily, and also identified a problem I was told was going to be very expensive (by a dealer mechanic) as something that could be fixed for a fraction of the price I was previously quoted. I will continue to use, and highly reccomend, Your Mechanic and Chris.

Al did a great job, he brought all the tools needed for installing the catalytic converter and had the job done within 45 minutes. He was very easy to talk with and knew what he was doing. I will call Al when I need other jobs done. The price was very good and they come to your house or work to do the repair. Thanks again Al...

Robert was fantastic. He was very thorough during our appointment; he discussed, and even showed me, the wear-and-tear on parts he replaced and offered helpful observations about the condition of my vehicle; he really made me feel like my car was in good hands. He did not push me in to additional repairs, as often happens when you visit a mechanic. This was my first experience with YourMechanic and Robert answered all the questions which I had about YourMechanic and how it works. He was extremely friendly and I will absolutely request him on any future repairs and maintenance. I really liked the convenience and affordability of YourMechanic and most of all I highly recommend Robert!

Answers to common Volkswagen questions

Why does my motor go from running to just dead?
Answered by Jay
There are no recalls or technical service bulletins (TSB) for the stalling while driving complaint, however there have been other owners who've had similar drivability issues. The fuel pump relay may have an intermittent open circuit, causing you to lose...
Tires that came from the factory are not good at all
Answered by Jay
The tires which came with your vehicle should not have had problems with sidewalls cracking or blowing out. I would recommend having the tires checked by the manufacturer for issues or defects which may be covered. To find replacement tires,...
Suspension up front makes a ton of noise, creaks
Answered by Jay
The front suspension has many moving parts which could cause the noise you describe. The most likely cause is the sway bar links binding. They can be inspected by turning the suspension steering and bouncing the car up and down,...
Sagging headliner coming off the ceiling, looks awful
Answered by Jay
The headliner is a piece of material with a foam backing which is glued to the roof of the interior. The glue used by Volkswagen to adhere the headliner does not hold up very well, causing the material and foam...
