Q: Where should I start in fixing my misfire?

asked by on January 31, 2017
  1. Engine Misfire (CYL 3 and First 1000 RPMs) 2. O2 Sensor (Bank 1 Sensor 1) No Circuit Activity 3. Fuel System Too Lean (Cylinder Bank 3)

Motor Misfires At IDLE, Mainly when I'm in reverse, And Also will misfire when Im lightly pushing the gas when cruising around 40 mph and 70 mph. No misfire at all when accelerating, just when causing at certain speeds.

I have no clue where I should even start in fixing this issue.

My car has 146000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

These need to be replaced together anyway. Depending on how many miles...

Prior to performing diagnostics be sure you have a fully, 100% charged battery that passes a load test (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-is-dead-inspection). Confirm that the engine immobilizer system (security system) is not activated thus preventing the car from starting. If the immobilizer system...
