My clutch pedal just stays to the floor, when stepped on. I can start the car, but that’s it Mechanic's Assistant: Has the clutch been slipping? Are you having any trouble shifting? It hasn’t been slipping, I just got in the car for the day its the first time in the car today, and it just happened this morning last night it was fine Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2013 VW Jetta TDI Premium Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Jetta yourself? What have you tried so far? I normally don’t. But I was trying to see if it’s something simple. I tried pumping the clutch with both feet. I tried out bring the hood to see if I could see anything. I don’t know where clutch fluid would go if that’s a thing. I just got the [timing belt](/topics-timing-belt-vw/), serpentine belt, and water pump replaced I. Wednesday Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? I just had to put a donut on it yesterday

Automotive Expert
Good Afternoon , It sounds like a problem with the clutch hydraulic system has leaked the fluid out . If you can fill it up and bleed it you may be able to get it working until it leaks out again depending on how large of a leak it has .

I don’t know how to bleed it, but where would I find the spot to put the fluid in?
Automotive Expert
It goes in where your blake fluid goes
Automotive Expert
here is a picture of the parts of the hydraulic system

It’s a diesel, and I can’t find clutch in my manual....
Automotive Expert
did you see the picture i sent ?

Not sure if diesel would have any difference with thatOkay so that looks like right next to the tire area. Which my front driver tire got replaced yesterday with a donutI had a flat there
Automotive Expert
It's possible that something hit it if a tire came apart . Try filling up your brake fluid reservoir and see if you can get a pedal back

Unfortunately currently I have to go get some break fluid first. Once I do that is it possible to just text back on this number
Automotive Expert
sure , if i'm not at the computer i'll respond when i get back

Okay, thank you.
Automotive Expert
you are welcome

one more question so I buy the correct fluid. It's just brake fluid that I buy to put in the brake fluid reservoir?
Automotive Expert
yes it is just brake fluid

Ok, I opened the reservoir, and I can see fluid on the top
Automotive Expert
is it all the way up to the top ? if so then its probably a bad clutch master cylinder .

it's all the way to the topI'll have to have it towed?
Automotive Expert
unfortunately yes you will

Okay, thank youHow much does that normally cost to fix?
Automotive Expert
without knowing for sure what it needs id be guessing , But id say $500 or less as a guess

Okay thank you
Automotive Expert
you are welcome
