Q: CV Axle will not lock in

Removed CV Axle. Removed stub shaft from the old axle and installed it on the new axle. Replaced the clips with OEM Chevy clips. Install new axle shaft will not lock in. Stub shaft sleeve lines up with seal lip. polished areas of the shaft sleeve line up with sealing lip. It is very close but will not lock. Checking with grease the stub shaft sleeve is hitting the outside bearing shaft of the differentials side gear. It slides in until the sleeve hits the bearing of the dif gear.
