Hello, if it is full of transmission fluid and wont move in any gear then it is an issue internal to the transmission. it will always have reverse and one forward gear if the electronic system had a complete failure. So no gears is a transmission failure. The maintenance light is not related to this issue.

Ok but what you think it is?
Automotive Expert
Internal seal failure for the forward clutch most likely. it would require a rebuild of the transmission or replacement.

Ok and how much you think it is and if you think with a full oil change would do it
Automotive Expert
The transmission would need to be removed and replaced or rebuilt, an fluid change wont fix that unless it wont move because it has a leak and is low on fluid. It would be a very expensive repair. One a transmission shop would need to quote you on.

Ok but if i turned the car off and on it goes it drives for a bit
Automotive Expert
If it wont move, it is loosing hydraulic pressure for some reason, A transmission shop would need to measure transmission pressures, but it will most likely need a major repair based on your description. its not a solenoid or sensor issue.

Oh ok thanks

It really helps but i can't believes that it was good and i was driving for hours and then just went bad in a second
Automotive Expert
That is the nature of failures. If the transmission is the original unit, it is 19 years old. They last a long time but not forever. if you had to add fluid because it was low, it has a leak and needs to be inspected and repaired first.

Ok by any chance you know where it's located it selenoid or sensor of transmission
Automotive Expert
I told you it is not a sensor or solenoid, A transmission shop will need to diagnose this further before condemning it to a rebuild or replacement.

Overheating, drop in oil pressure when coming to a stop
I would start by checking the thermostat (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/thermostat-replacement). Driving may temporarily keep the temperature down due to wind circulation, however once you are stopped this goes away, especially...
