The best thing I can suggest for you is to do what's called a Hard reset. This is where you disconnect the battery and let the vehicle sit for about 30 minutes and then reconnect it. This will clear all faults stored in the vehicles computer and could get you back on the road temporarily. The thing is to properly diagnose this fault you may need to use the factory scan tool or even a code reader. And then diagnose the fault from there. Your owners manual should show you how to check the transmission fluid level. Although most transmissions are designed so that you do not need to check them on a regular basis. If you look under the vehicle and see a puddle or any larger leak then you will want to get the vehicle repaired and refilled right away and avoid attempting to drive the vehicle because this can cause severe damage which can require you to need a replacement transmission over just a repair. If you have free towing I would suggest taking advantage of that. Most insurance companies started making this part of normal coverage. So I would inquire about that if you are not sure. I always shoot for a 5 start review. If you have any other questions or in need of any other help, please let me know. If you think my answer was not that of a 5 star rating please let me know what I can do to assist you further. I want to answer all concerns that you have about this issue. Tips are not required but highly suggested, I work hard to give you the best answer and appreciate the extra thank you on your side. Thank you for understanding and thank you for using Just Answer!

The light wasn't on last night I got home parked the car got out and came in went to bed got up to go to an appointment I got into the car then realized my battery was dead so I used my husbands battery jumper and quick started the car with it then I closed the hood got into my car and put it in reverse but it wouldn't move as I applied pressure to the gas petal it only reved the [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) would not go into reverse so I tried to put it in drive nothing same just made the engine rev when I applied pressure to the gas petal

Then this sounds like it will most likely be a good candidate for a new battery and after the removal of the current battery let the vehicle sit for 30 minutes to clear/reset the faults in the system. This sometimes happens after a system was on low voltage. It can set a ton of Extra faults when there may be no issue. Please try this and let me know if you can get the vehicle to drive again!

we fixed it my daughter typed car starts but won't move into you tube app and it showed her how to reset the transmission by doing a couple really quick and simple steps yippythank you for your info though
