Q: Engine light on

asked by on

engine light keep staying on once my car got fixed, I drive away and turn of my car off and once I start it the light goes back on .The mechanic says it electric .

My car has 147789 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The check engine light is controlled by the engine computer. If the light is on then the computer may have a code stored and sensing a problem in the system. You will need to have the computer scanned to see what codes are stored. Once the codes are received then they can be pinpoint tested to narrow the problem down.
