Q: Crankshaft pulley not turning
The engine will run as long as the battery has life. But the crankshaft pulley doesn't Spin and makes a loud rattle
My car has an automatic transmission.
The crankshaft damper has a broken rubber insulator and no longer turns the outside of the pulley moving the serpentine belt. The accessories are not being turned causing the loss of power steering, charging and any other accessory that is turned by the pulley. Replace the damper and it will fix the problem.
