Hello and welcome to Just Answer, My name is Richard. I am sorry to hear you are having issues or concerns with your vehicle, I know how frustrating this can be! Rest assured I will try my best to help you! The website automatically sends you phone call offers which you can accept or decline, a phone call is not necessary for me to help you so lets get started. My goal is to provide you with excellent service. If you're satisfied with my assistance, your 5-star rating at this time is appreciated If you have any further questions feel free to ask! When you say it won't turn over, do you mean when you turn the key to the start position the starter doesn't engage and crank the [engine](/topics-engine-chrysler/) over? Or do you mean the engine cranks over with the starter motor just doesn't start up and stay running?

Dont start upLike its want to start but wont turn
Automotive Expert
The first thing I need you to do is check the PCM for fault codes. If you have a code reader or scan tool, use it. If you don't have one use the key cycle procedure to get the codes. Follow the instructions on this [youtube video to read the codes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1D3Tjc-EL-o&NR=1).

It passed the readerNo codes pop up but the check engine light still on
Automotive Expert
So there are no codes at all? Can you try the key cycle procedure also?

Ill try that
Automotive Expert
Could I get the last 8 digits of your vin?

Im on my way to the car now
Automotive Expert
Sounds good! I'll would like you to crank the engine over for 10 continuous seconds before reading the codes.

Ok i ask my dad to send the vin while im on my way there
Automotive Expert
Thanks!

Automotive Expert
Thanks

Yup

I did the read after i did the key thing n the p0700 cam up trans something
Automotive Expert
Is that the only code? Did it say pdone or done after displaying that code?

The read said p0700 after it said doneOn the car dash
Automotive Expert
Okay, P0700 is just an informational code telling us there is a [transmission](/topics-transmission-chrysler/) related code stored in the TCM. We won't worry about that because it won't have anything to do with the starting. When you first turn the key on, do you hear the fuel pump buzz for a couple seconds?
Automotive Expert
What originally happened, did the car die on you and wouldn't start back up or did you go to start it one day and it wouldn't start?

Died on me n didnt start back up

It sounds like the [timing belt](/topics-timing-belt-chrysler/) jumped and the engine is out of time now. I think the next step would be pull one spark plug out of each bank and check the compression. My goal is to provide you with excellent service. If you're satisfied with my assistance, your 5-star rating at this time is appreciated If you have any further questions feel free to ask! These were common for [water pumps](/topics-water-pump-chrysler/) failing which would cause the timing belt to jump or break.

Ok can i keep this number so i can keep in contact with u ill send u money just for the knowledge your spearing me right now and I just want to be able to like contact you after I grab the water pump in timing and see what's up with that
Automotive Expert
Sounds good, thank you very much! You can reply back to this anytime and if you would like a phone call, you can request a call if you want.

Ok cool thanks
Automotive Expert
You're very welcome!

Got a ?
Automotive Expert
Hey what's up?

the belt was the problem the timing belt it was all chewed up on the inside now I'm having a problem trying to get the timing belt to tighten up over the pool yet I think it is the idler pulley pulley
Automotive Expert
Sorry, Can you give me more info on what you are trying to do?

Trying to put tension on a timing belt the pain was pulled but nothing like tensioned up
Automotive Expert
Did you reset the tensioner and place a pin through the holes?

How do i reset it i bought a new one
Automotive Expert
It might be better to talk on the phone so I have a better idea of what you are trying to do.

I got to pay for that
Automotive Expert
It would be an extra $10 if I request it, so it's up to you, that's the only way JA will allow a phone call.

Dam only got 8 bucks on my card
Automotive Expert
Here's a diagram

Ok so rest the pin n how
Automotive Expert
You need to put the tensioner in a vise and squeeze it slowly together until the hole in the center shaft lines up with the holes on the tensioner body, then you need to place a nail or something through them to hold it together. Once you have the belt in place, put tension on the belt by putting rotating the tensioner pulley against the belt with a 15mm socket and ratchet, then install the tensioner while you keep tension on the belt. Once the tensioner is bolted on, pull the nail out very quickly and turn the crankshaft over 2 revolutions to make sure the the engine is still in time.

But remember the belt broke that's why the car wasn't startingUr right we need to talk lol i got the 10 now
Automotive Expert
It's not letting me send a request. What's your #
Automotive Expert
I still haven't got the picture

Won't let me send it
Automotive Expert
That's frustrating. You may have to type a reply and then attach the pic
