Hi Yes I tried to jump start. Doesn't even try to turn at allI have a odbii module I can send you the codes tonight when I get home. I didn't really even think about that, but yeah I probably should to make sure. I'm pretty sure it is the steering wheel lock causing it not to start. I have been having a couple of episodes the last few months where I have to move the steering wheel a for it to engage and then it starts. But this time no dice!

Ok sounds good. If your scan tool can connect to the steering module then it will give you some codes.

ok so here are the codes 0140, 0174, 0128, 0497, 0171

Ok those are engine codes and wouldn't cause the problem you are having. You'll need to scan the steering module for codes.

You would use a scan tool that plugs up to OBD plug but you'll need a special scan tool to access the steering.

No. That's only for the check engine light. The cheapest scan tool I am aware of that can do this testing is about $3500.

You'll need to get this to a repair shop. A diagnostic would cost less than any part you can buy to fix it. It may just need to be reset.

But if it was the steering wheel lock mechanism if that needed to be replaced how much is that for repairCan you be or can this service come out and take a look at it and read the codes. I'm just trying to figure out what to do before I get it towed anywhere cuz once I tow it somewhere then it's it's hard to go anywhere else.
