Jeff showed up early and completed the work quicker than expected. Everything was performed adequately and Jeff seemed to really know what he was talking about. Seemed honest about additional work that needed to be done with the car as well. Going with yourmechanic and buying my own parts probably cut my overall cost in half.

Brett was able to fit me in sooner than I was scheduled and had me up and running in no time. It was a quick fix so thankfully I didn't have to wait until my original appt. Very nice and knowledgeable. Thank you Brett

This was my first time using yourmechanic.com. I have an older model conversion van which can’t be serviced in most places so it is hard for me to even get an oil change without going across town. Plus, it’s so old & rickety looking, I always fear that I’m easy pickings for a con mechanic. Brent showed up on time and recognized things about this vehicle that only an experienced mechanic would know. He was honest about me NOT needing repairs at the time & made recommendations on what to consider having done in another 6 months. Now 6 mos later, I intend to follow up and book with Brett again. I wanted to request him to work on my daughter’s car while she was briefly in town but alas he was unavailable. No worries tho, I was able to arrange an appointment with another mechanic with 20 yrs experience thru this website. If all goes well, I’ll have 2 experienced mechanics I can rely on. My only criticism is that motorcycle repair services are not offered by yourmechanic.com I’d also like to see yourmechanic.com do NC inspections. Hopefully they can work on that!

SERVICE

Ignition Coil

AMOUNT PAID

$207.07
by Julie from Charlotte, NC 28273

Travis did a great job! The problem with my car was a bit mysterious and had completely stumped another mechanic we hired but Travis was determined to throw everything he had at it until he figured it out and fixed the problem. He's also honest. He bought a part for my car that turned out to be unnecessary and was very clear that he wouldn't be charging me for it. He spent 3 hours working on my car and only charged me for 1 1/2 hours labor. He never left or took a break the whole time he was working on my car. I will definitely be calling Travis the next time my old Ford breaks down!

AMOUNT PAID

by geber from Charlotte, NC 28273

after replacing the master brake cylinder, the brakes were not working properly, he said the reason could be the ABM MODULE letting air into the brake system.. I got frustrated with that because now I couldn't drive the car at all, after a few more tries , I guess he figured out what the problem was and got the brakes to work as close to normal as possible, I took the car for a long ride and notice the difference, so at the end I have to say he got the job done, thank you JESUS.

Above & beyond @ the price I paid. I wish I knew more. I was surprised she showed up in a car instead of a truck . I wish I just used that money for an auto shop " instead of mobile" but she did her best " and took out extra oil that wasn't needed "

Just put a new carburetor, battery, starter relay, alternator, car stalls out while driving and battery dies when restarted
Answered by Kevin
The battery should be load tested (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-is-dead-inspection). Simply charging the battery or measuring voltage is not adequate. Measure charging output, too. You want to confirm that the ignition system, including for instance the ignition coil and ignition switch, are not...
