Good afternoon, I haven't received a reply. I'll give you the best answer I can based on the information provided. The airbag light will need suitable scan diagnostic equipment, such as Vag-Com to interrogate the Airbag control module. The inspection/service now is simply a maintenance reminder.

Sorry for the delay!
When trying to start, all the warning lights flashed on and starter just clicked. We had to jump it.
Then it died again... Is the warning light madness result of a dead battery and have nothing to do with using the scanner?

Most likely. These vehicles are VERY voltage dependent. Sufficient battery voltage is absolutely crucial for all vehicle system function. Repair logic step ONE, if verify you have correct source voltage before attempting ANY electrical diagnosis.
