Transmission Position Sensor (Switch) Replacement $105.40 - $1003.94 Get a Quote

Hi there. Sounds like the transmission shift position sensor is not working properly. I recommend replacing the sensor. The transmission position sensor is designed to tell the computer (ECM) what gear the vehicle is in. If the dash is saying that the gear is in reverse when the gear is really in park, then the sensor has failed. If you need further assistance with transmission position sensor, then seek out a professional, such as one from Your Mechanic, to help you.

Which side of a driveshaft do you put the spline on or does it matter?
The spline on the drive shaft should be as close to the transmission or transfer case as possible for the rear and front applications. This prevents any unwanted twisting torsional motion with the driveshaft and allows the yoke to have...

When you turned on the key the IAC was energized and would push out the spring due to this. Just put spring back in and reinstall after it is cleaned.
