So you need to quit driving it and have it towed in an engine shop to have it checked , from what your saying it could be an oil pump issue, which can cause the problems you have said.

I drive a 2008 Toyota [Camry](/topics-camry/). For a couple of weeks there was a loud rattling noise coming from under the hood. Now there is a grinding going on while driving. The "low [engine](/topics-engine-toyota/) oil pressure" signal is flashing constantly. Mechanic's Assistant: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
