Q: reconnected cylinder=gasket leak issues?

asked by on January 26, 2017

had small offroad accident in car; developed slight leak, some oil would sometimes be on coolant surface;

3 years later: inspection

mechanic said had a bad cylinder( compression or disconnect or something), so 5 of 6 cylinders running had been running( for unkown numberof years?).

they reconnected it; weeks laterr; ran out of coolant with oil glaze on top.

in theory, could a leak be isolated to that particular cylinder?

so disconnecting could prolong inevitable>car has a long history from former owner "jury rigging" it to infinite lengths.

My car has 300000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
