I was driving my 2018 nissan sentra, and the accelleration went out at about 35mph. I pulled the car over, shut the car off, turned it back on, then the car would not move when shifting to drive or reverse. Mechanic's Assistant: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking? There was no leaking. it's the original transmission with 70,000 miles Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sentra yourself? What have you tried so far? I will try to fix it myself. I topped off [coolant](/topics-coolant-nissan/) (with it being winter), checked the battery terminals, unhooked the battery, Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? That's about it

AEB?

Automatic Emergency Braking
Automotive Expert
now your transmission cannot shift to Drive? Are you still on the side of the road?

The car is in a driveway now. I can shift into Drive, Reverse, and Low, but the car will not move
Automotive Expert
Check the transmission fluid level.

okay
Automotive Expert
see link because your vehicle does not have a dipstick.

okay, I printed that out. I am not with my car right now, but will go to it in about an hour and a half
Automotive Expert
ok

there were no normal warning signs of a slipping transmission
Automotive Expert
Okay good. The AEB malfunction for many Nissans due to a bad collision sensor. This sensor would cause the vehicle not moved like what you're experiencing. Currently, there is a class action lawsuit going on regarding this problem.

where is the sensor located at in the car? I have been talking to a couple mechanic friends, and they believe it to be a sensor.
Automotive Expert
Nissan’s AEB relies on a radar in the front grill.

underneath the headlight?
Automotive Expert
They are known to go bad prematurely. can you turn off the aeb?

no. and when I go through the settings on the info display, there are no options to turn it off
Automotive Expert
I would advise visiting the dealer on this. Apparently, this problem is across the board for Nissans. Make sure the front grille and bumper is clean from obstruction.

I called the dealer, and wouldn't look at it without charging a fee

Hello. It sounds like the window motor failed. It is much easier for a failing motor to lower and window and not be able to close it. I would typically remove the door panel and first check the voltage at...

My car is overheating and the coolant is leaking from the radiator - 2000 Honda Civic

Replaced timing belt now car wont start 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser
