We were discussing the stalling issue on mt 2014 Forte. I took it to the local auto parts store and the code reader showed nothing was stored for my issue. You had given me some likely causes, but I am not sure what I should try first as I know at this point it is most likely going to be trial and error. What would you recommend as a place to start?

Howdy from Tennessee, I'm Chris aka Moose. Who am I helping today? I'm glad you've come here to get help. I will do my best to get the answer you are looking for. I help many customers, so sometimes my replies are delayed, I will respond once available. I try to be online at 1-5 pm and 10 pm-5 am every day. - Is this stalling concern while idling in park or drive or while driving? - Does it restart easily?

Hi Chris, My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* the issue is the car stalls intermittently at idle. Sometimes it starts right up, others I need to hold the pedal halfway down before it will restart. It originally started to do this about a week ago. At tht time the tank was just under a quarter so I assumed it had moisture in the gas. I topped off the tank and added Heet. The car did not have any issues until Monday when it once again was at 1/4 tank. I refilled, but the problem persists. The check engine light is not on and a code reader shows no codes stored. I was already planning to do an oil change and replace the plugs and air filter this week anyway, but I doubt that is the cause of my current issue.

Hello, Larry The most common causes are the throttle body dirty and needing to be cleaned and the same for the MAF sensor. I recommend those and a few other steps done to address this concern, see this file [https://www.dropbox.com/s/r2cimvb2blyqgnj/Air%20Fuel%20System%20Service.png?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/r2cimvb2blyqgnj/Air%20Fuel%20System%20Service.png?dl=0) Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Checking in with you. Please let me know if you liked my answer, or need more help.

Hi Moose, I did the things you suggested and the stalling at idle seems to have ceased, but it continues to be hard starting. It seems to start fine until it gets warmed up, then i have to hold the pedal about halfway down to get it to catch and run. Even then it sounds like my grandfather's antique tractor for a few seconds. Is it possible that the fuel system cleaner needs more time to work? Or is there a sensor that is possibly malfunctioning when it gets hot?

It does take about a tank of fuel for the cleaner to work then you need to do the battery reset. Leaking fuel injectors can be one more concern. Causing the engine to be flooded and hard to start. Check the oil and see if there is a distinct fuel odor detected

It was due for an oil change anyway, so I did that along with the things you suggested. I did not notice any fuel odor when I drained the old oil. I have not run enough to use the full tank, so I will need to see if things change as the tank gets emptier.

Sounds good, to me, keep in touch.

Will do.

Thanks

I have run the full tank of fuel through and the idle and stalling issue seems to be resolved. Thanks for your advice.
