A few days ago I drove it then went get back in and it was dead, bought a new battery it was fine again. Last two days my car has been locking on its own without me pressing the key remote. Today I unlock the door put the key in the ignition and nothing, no lights or anything just dead like the key isn't even in the ignition Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the fuses? Have you checked the door switches? No Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2015 Jeep Cherokee sport Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Cherokee yourself? What have you tried so far? AAA came out the first time and said I needed a battery, after I got one it's been working fine. The remote was just on the fritz locking the door by itself. Now the car is just completely dead no nothing

Hello, I'm Tyson with just answer I’m sorry you’re having trouble. I can assist you today. There may be a slight delay due to site and **ignore the just answer call pop ups** they have can be confusing and are site generated, if we get to a point we need the live call we can but most prefer to use app.

It sounds like your alternator is the problem that's what i would check next, as it did fine with new battery that means the battery likely was not getting charge from it to stay charged.

Could it possibly have anything to do with my key?
Automotive Expert
There could be something going on with but it wouldn't kill the battery. If alternator wasnt charging low voltage could effect the BCM enough for it to act up.

Okay
Automotive Expert
yea i mean those can go bad no doubt but i'd have alternator tested as it sounds like it drained battery.

Does AAA have something to test the alternator or will I need it towed to a shop?
Automotive Expert
well yes and no, i'm sure they have a voltmeter but battery would have to be charged and running to test it in the field. Do you have a good honest shop to use there?

No

what city state i'll do some research.

Auto4n looks best based off amount of reviews

Here are three other options in your area but reviews are huge for these mom and pop shops if they’re not taking care of the customers they won’t be around for long

Thank you

Why would I continue to have a P0106 code in my 2009 Ford Explorer
