I have a p0626 code And would like to know a list of diagnostic to go through to maybe specify my actual problem Y'all don't list anyone available to come to my area Mechanic's Assistant: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it? It's p0053 P10000 And p0626 And I have not tried to reset Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2008 F-150 5.4 L 3 valve Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your F-150 yourself? What have you tried so far? I've Replace the battery Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Note: Document links will automatically delete after 7 days.** For the P026 1. First, measure voltage the voltage at the battery, then compare that voltage to the large battery cable at the alternator, and the battery sense wire at the 3 pin connector. (See the attached illustration.) The voltage should be the same if the cables, wiring and grounds are good. 2. If there is no voltage drop between the alternator and the batteries, then test the circuits between the PCM and alternator 3 pin connector. See the attached alternator control circuits' test. 3. If the powers to the alternator are good, and the control circuits test ok, suspect an alternator issue. The P0053 is an [oxygen sensor](/topics-oxygen-sensor-ford/) code. For the P0052. 1. First access and unplug the bank 1 sensor 1. See the attached illustration. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/acq9ly9i2oki933/Bank%201%2002%20sensor%20location.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/acq9ly9i2oki933/Bank%201%2002%20sensor%20location.pdf?dl=0) 2. Load test the power to the heater circuit, see the attached illustration. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpt1u5jkmchddwn/load%20test%20power%20circiut%20to%2002%20Sensor.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpt1u5jkmchddwn/load%20test%20power%20circiut%20to%2002%20Sensor.pdf?dl=0) 3. If the power is ok, test the resistance of the heater circuit to be sure the sensor itself is not open. If the heater sensor is open, replace the failed sensor. 4. If the sensor is ok, access and unplug the [engine](/topics-engine-ford/) connector at the PCM. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/7m6hoghjlsprpz3/PCM%20to%20engine%20connector%20location.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/7m6hoghjlsprpz3/PCM%20to%20engine%20connector%20location.pdf?dl=0) 5. Test the oxygen sensor heater circuit. See the attached illustration. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/9os2mca6it46tuv/Testing%20the%20heater%20circuit.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/9os2mca6it46tuv/Testing%20the%20heater%20circuit.pdf?dl=0) 6. If there is no voltage to the oxygen sensor heater circuit at the PCM, repair the open wire between the PCM and the sensor. 7. If the heater circuit tests ok, swap the bank 1 and bank 2 heater circuits at the PCM engine connector, see the attached illustration. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/koyvb0lu4a7g4tf/Swapping%20the%20connector.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/koyvb0lu4a7g4tf/Swapping%20the%20connector.pdf?dl=0) 8. Plug the connector back in, clear all codes, then cycle the key and start the engine. 9. If the code moves to other sensor, suspect a harness or sensor issue, maybe try a different brand sensor. 10. If the code remains the same, suspect a failed PCM.
