My aim is to give you the best service possible by providing an accurate answer. Unfortunately, as you may be aware an accurate answer is not always a popular answer. Sometimes it will take me time to respond as I review your information, compare it to my resources and think through the potential options to ensure my answer is as accurate as possible. I appreciate your patience and remember even if I don’t respond immediately I am working diligently on your issue. The starting and accelerating issues are most likely unrelated. Having to jump start the car each time is a battery issue. The first step is to replace the battery. Once the engine is jump started the [alternator](/topics-alternator-dodge/) will generate the current to keep the vehicle running and recharge the battery. If the vehicle continues to need jump starting then it's a bad battery. The lighting bolt warning signal means there is a failure in the electronically controlled throttle circuit. This could be related to a battery but if it was happening prior to your current battery issue it's most likely a separate issue. It's difficult to say what the issue is without the failure code. Do you have a scan tool where you can pull the code or codes from the system?

I’m having the Battery checked
Automotive Expert
Sounds good. Are you at an AutoParts store?

If the battery does not resolve the issue, you will need to diagnose the failure code for the throttle body. This could be one of the following issues: . - Throttle body itself - Wiring - Accelerator pedal position sensor - Engine computer . With the failure code I can provide you with even more details regarding the exact diagnostic strategy for your issue. . I’m glad that I was able to answer your question today.
