Q: Check engine light came on

asked by on

I was on my way to the laundry mat the check engine light came on and started blinking in your van started putting what could be the issue

My car has 153000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

When the check engine light starts blinking in most cases the engine is misfiring due to ignition failure. This will set a code in memory of the engine computer for the cylinder that is misfiring. Have the engine scan tested by a mechanic like one from your mechanic to test and locate the cause of the code.
