Hello. I recently had transmission issues with my truck. I was getting noises from under it as if marbles were rolling around in the torque converter, and soon after my vehicle had problems shifting. However the main thing worrying me currently is that today I tried to at least start my vehicle and it no longer does. Could a faulty transmission or torque converter cause an engine failure? Mechanic's Assistant: Have you replaced the transmission's filter lately? No Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your transmissions? Are you a bot? Mechanic's Assistant: Yes, I'm a bot. I make the process of talking to the Mechanic more efficient and affordable by asking basic questions. Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far? I am fixing the vehicle myself. I have the transmission out and I am in the process of overhauling it as well as replacing the torque converter. However I am worried about what could cause the vehicle to not start when I put it back in.

OK so as I suspected you more than likley have either a crankshaft sensor broken or failed, or the flex plate is cracked or damaged in some way, make sure to inspect the flex plate very carefully, if thats ok I would suspect sensor as both of those are related to your transmission issue.

Okay fair enough. What about a nuetral safety switch? I do remember seeing a code pertaining to it before I couldn't start the vehicle anymore. Could that cause a no start too? Perhaps from damage to the valve body.

yes that could also be a issue, there could be 100 different things that wouldnt allow it to start. check out those things, if anything seems off replace, once the trans is back in the vehicle and your still having issues let me know whats going on and we can troubleshoot from there

Alright. Thanks a lot Shawn. I appreciate the help.
