Second opinion] I’m having suspension issues with my 2009 Cadillac CTS AWD when I turn the wheel seem misaligned and it leans also when turning it feels like a thumping in the center console when I drive I feel every bump it’s like it’s going to fall apart. Can’t afford to fix it and entire suspension at once wondering what I should fix first Mechanic's Assistant: Do you have power steering? Have you checked the power steering fluid? Yes the power steering is out or goes in and out the fluid is full but a nasty brownish color Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your CTS yourself? What have you tried so far? Fixing it my self considering the cost at a shop is too high I’ve been looking into buying the parts my self just don’t know where to start I’ve been told that the ball joints are bad for sure I’m pretty sure it hasn’t ever had any work done on the suspension since being bought by original owner Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Had my oil changed about a month ago and it already says 65% oil life remaining had it done at a shop

Ok, when you have a vehicle with multiple issues, always start with safety related first. Between steering and suspension, steering is safety related as losing your power steering around a turn can cause an accident. With dirty/burnt fluid and the power steering coming and going, I would replace the power steering pump, drain all fluid and put in new fluid. Next would be suspension. If the ball joints are bad, they will make either a popping noise or creaking noise like old bed springs when you go over a bump or hit a pothole. If this is happening, then they would be the next thing to replace when you are able to If the vehicle leans to one side or lower at the front or rear when sitting still, then there is an issue with the air suspension system and that has to be diagnosed with a scan tool If the only issue is leaning when going around curves, then the struts are weak and need to be replaced. This would be the last thing on the list to do as they are not safety related For the oil life, being at 65% life remaining so soon after an oil change, the engine likely was not properly maintained and has some sludge buildup which will quickly reduce the life of the oil. Get a can of Rislone engine flush, pour into the engine thru oil cap opening, run engine for 10 minutes and then drain oil and replace oil filter and add new oil. You may need to do this a couple of times over the next couple of months to get rid of all sludge. Thanks for using Just Answer and letting me help you. I hope I provided what you needed. If you find more help is still needed, let me know by listing out any remaining questions you have on this concern. I hope the remainder of your day is well.

The next question is why does my steering wheel sometimes become straight but wheels arent

HI That can be from the steering column at the rack and pinion u joint being stripped, worn inner or outer tie rods
