We may also require some specialized testing tools in order to assist us in diagnosing the problems due to the complexity of today’s vehicles. Battery should read 12.6 volts and pass a load/specific gravity test.

I have red steering wheel light on with '!' symbol and heavy steering wheel. The batter gives 12.24v while the engine is off. Could this be the reason for power steering problem? Could a batter change solve the problem?
