Be sure you have a fully charged battery that passes a load test. Confirm that the engine immobilizer system (security system) is not activated thus preventing the car from starting. If the immobilizer system is on, you may see a security warning light. If the warning light is on, to temporarily override the immobilizer system, see these instructions. If there is no starter motor operation at all with the key held in the "start" position, the procedure is to test for power and voltage drops to the starter motor/solenoid. If there is no power, or a large voltage drop is measured, then the electrical circuit supplying the starter motor has a fault. The circuit that will have to be tested begins at the battery and includes grounds, wiring (some of which is very heavy cabling), fuses, relays, the ignition switch, neutral start switch, and terminations. Basically, with a fully charged battery, and with the key held in the "start" position, the starter is either getting power or it isn’t. With the key in the "start" position, if the starter motor is getting power but the starter doesn’t work, then the starter is condemned and replaced. Note that starters can and sometimes do develop intermittent faults due to bad spots on the armature. Misfiring issue. How do I fix this?
If the car is misfiring then it will generate a code on the computer. I would have a mechanic pull the codes (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/engine-is-misfiring-inspection) to determine where the problem is coming from. A misfire can be caused by a bad coil...

Engine RPMs drop suddenly from 2500 to 500-1500 RPM on 2013 BMW 650i
Thanks for writing in about your 2013 BMW 650i. The symptoms sound similar to a vehicle with a throttle position input error (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-position-sensor-replacement) or a major boost leak in a forced induction vehicle. To verify this, I would recommend having...
Smoke is coming from steering wheel column and there is a burning smell, loud noise from engine.
This sounds like there are two different problems, but the "something's burning" problem is critical. There is obviously an electrical short somewhere inside the steering column that has already done damage, and could lead to a sudden shutoff in traffic,...
Crankshaft sensor replacement - 2014 Toyota Avalon

I have an overheating problem. Its not the fans! With the radiator cap off I can't really see the fluid flowing until I hit the gas.
Hi there - lets look at the behavior overall. Did you replace the clutch fan with electric fans because of an overheating issue? If so, that fundamental issue is likely still present. If temp rises quickly to overheat (matter of...

everytime I turn my car on the ac starts to blow air even if I switch it off. it won't blow cold air or heat.
Hi there. Based on your question and input, it looks like your AC control switches are damaged, causing the vents to activate even if the switch is not activated. This is sometimes an electrical problem, as it could be triggered...
