Hello, my name is Jason. I have 30+ years experience working with VW, and 20+ years experience working with VAG-COM/VCDS. Now, while I can definitely get you pointed in the right direction, and hopefully get your lights working again, there is no printed or other material that shows all coding possibilities for all cars, for all markets. Now, let me ask a few questions. 1) are your lights still the OE lights that came on the car from new? 2) when you tried to change coding, what exactly were you trying to do? 3) did you use the long coding helper? 4) can you post an auto-scan here?

hey i coded my tail lights wrong now i wanna code them back to factorywhat i wanna do is adaptationsetting i have VCDS software
Automotive Expert
Ok, I understand all of that I need an autoscan posted here please. That's the only way I have any possibility of helping. Also, was the coding change done in address 09?

in adress 09
Automotive Expert
Ok, figured that. I need an autoscan, or scan report from address 09

the problem they deduct there is a pending call i paid for iyt never came throughwhy you deducted 500 plus 443 for this conversation?
Automotive Expert
A call won't help here at all. I have to have a VCDS scan posted here. That is literally the only way that I have any possibility of helping.

i will post it now
Automotive Expert
I didn't deduct anything, and have no access to your account information. I'm just a shop owner trying to help you, and also just a user of the site.

Perfect! Now we're getting somewhere. Give me a few minutes please. Ok, there are 3 critical bits in question in address 09. Can you change the long coding to this? \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*000000000 the 3 bits following 1027 are the important ones. Yours are B0F, and hopefully 30B gets you back to good. If not, you're going to have to get into the long coding helper to see exactly what those bits control.

ohj let me try iti will get back to you now
Automotive Expert
No problem. I'll be here. But like I said, the bits that control the "B" and the "F" in your coding look to be off.

i have changed the long coding
Automotive Expert
Ok, results?

File attached (131MVQL)

the same
Automotive Expert
That still looks like your original coding

File attached (4V3M1S4)

i tried changing it now so what next?
Automotive Expert
And still no change? Can you take pictures of the options for bits 15-18? Also, the inability to see the faults in the other modules makes things pretty tough as well.

File attached (QV1212Z)
Automotive Expert
ok, that doesn't help much. let's see the others.

Automotive Expert
and let's finally see 15

but there was nothing wrong with the car i mistakely made this coding
Automotive Expert
I understand that, but so far, from everything I'm seeing, the coding isn't causing your issue, and also without seeing any other faults due to the older interface, this is going to be tough to remedy through this format.

iam going to update it then tomorrow
Automotive Expert
Ok, sounds good. My shop did the same a few months ago. Just started running into too many holes in the autoscans using the older HEX-CAN interface.
