Thank you. you replaced the top cylinder? what exactly does that mean?

My mechanic had me to replace it. I am talking about the upper section which houses the valves 16 valves to be preciseFrom the beginning, he changed my water pump, and some 2 oil seals located around the the same [timing belt](/topics-timing-belt-toyota/) train off the timing beltAfter changing these oil seals and the water pump. My engine wouldn't start, but cranked fine.
Automotive Expert
so you replaced the cylinder head?

I was also advised to change the gear-like unit which the crank sensor readsAt this point, I discovered the wrong part was replaced.Do you understand me to this point please?
Automotive Expert
so you replaced the cylinder head and the crank sensor tone ring. and you said you replaced the wrong part? what part? answer the questions please

The gear-like bode which the crank sensor reads is the only part I discovered was wrong.body\*This part has an internal diameter of about 2"
Automotive Expert
did you get the correct part and replace it?

That was after the whole replacement of several parts
Automotive Expert
ok, is the check engine light on? and did you double-check the timing?

Right now car starts, but hesitates start up only on first start of the dayWould still start up after about 3 engine cranksAfter this first start of the day, it would start at once on every other start on that same daysecond issue is, idle is high even to the hearing and the heat build up around the engine is much and rapid. This was not like this before these replacements were done sir.I got the correct part and replaced at last. CEL is on. Timing was double-checked and declared correctThe crank sensor tone ring was replaced with the correct one at last. Car had started but other complications set inFirst Start up hesitation and High engine idle. This high idle is making me get a temperature rise in engine hood and underneath and also on the temp gauge
Automotive Expert
what codes are you getting?

No scan tool available sorry
Automotive Expert
so it cranks and does not start now? Can you borrow buyt or rent a scan tool? its very important at this point?

please check my previous messages. I stated it starts now. but on first start up for the day, it needs me to crank the engine up to about 3 timesthen subsequently, it will continue to start at once throughout the daybut once car sits overnight, it will require me to crank about 3 times in the morning before it will start up to idle

ok do you have a auto zone nearby they usually scan codes for free.. we really ned fault codes... The check engine light comes on when the on-board computer detects a fault in engine driveability or performance, transmission control system or transmission, or the emissions system, and a fault code is set and stored in the computer. Faults that can set the check engine light can range from a vaccuum leak, engine mis-fire, low engine compression, faulty sensor such as O2 sensor or other engine sensor, hydraulic pressure loss in transmission, transmission shift solenoid, open/short in wiring harness, emission evaporative system leak, or one of over a hundred different reasons. The only way to know what set a fault code and turned the check engine light on is to have a diagnostic scanner hooked up to the on-board computer and read it for stored diagnostic fault codes. Many auto parts stores will do this service for free- (like auto zone)check with you local parts stores. If none in your area do, then you will have to take it to a shop and pay to have the computer read for stored fault codes. Without knowing the fault codes numbers, it would be irresponsible to guess as to the cause as there are hundreds of possible causes if you provide me a diagnostic code we can narrow down the cause of failure

the Second stage of the issue is idle is high enough that one would sense the heat from the under hood if you stand close to the car about 2 ft awaytemp gauge rises a bit above normal operating temp
