Q: Squealing noise coming from air conditioner

asked by on

There is a squealing noise coming from the air conditioner.

The most likely cause for this is a belt; you have a total of three. They should all be replaced at the same time if that is the problem; the AC has its own. If the belt is good, and tight, the AC compressor, or the AC compressor clutch could make noise as well. I recommend having a certified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, come out to your car’s location to inspect your AC system, and suggest the best path to repair.
