do you have the trouble codes? I would need these to go any further with your diagnostics help. i would also recommend a second opinion from a different shop. if lights are on and there are codes present then they should be able to figure out what is wrong with your vehicle with proper diagnostics associated with the trouble codes. this could be a wiring issue, sensor issue or module issue. scanning and retrieving the codes will be the first step. with these codes you will se the component or area of the fault. i can help you with this too if you do not have a scan tool most larger auto parts stores will scan your car for free let me know how you make out and if i can assist you further i would be happy to help! cam

It showed that a coolant sensor needed replacing, which it was but other than that nothing apparently

i would need the actual codes unfortunately as there are different coolant sensor codes ( high signal, low singal, ect..) or else i would just be guessing. A sensor code does not always mean replace that sensor as it could be wiring. circuits need to be checked, verification of actual temperature needs to be checked after repair. it sounds like they just popped a sensor in it and that wasnt the problem. i do not hear very often a mechanic saying that there is no reason for the light coming on. There is always a reason. i will need the vehicle scanned with current codes and live data information of actual engine temperature and freeze frame data of when the code was stored

Sliding door won't open
The center hinge rollers are a very common issue. If they are not the fault, I believe a restriction of some sort is still preventing the door from opening. If the door can not be forced open, unfortunately it may...
How thermostat stuck open influences AC
Yes, because the computers control everything, and if the temperature isn't right, it can often make the AC not work right. What you will also find is that the system has electric cooling fans. If the car has a regular...
Stalls/Dies only in reverse - 1991 Dodge Dakota
Hey there, thanks for writing in. You'll need to check that the shifter linkage has not rubbed against any wires causing a short. If they are fine, your most likely culprit may be the neutral safety switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/neutral-safety-switch-replacement). To pinpoint...
Check coolant
This vehicle has two separate coolant reservoirs in most cases. One of them is for the engine's cooling system, and the other one should be smaller and is for the turbo. The coolant level can be verified by checking the...
Low oil pressure - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
Hi there. If you are having a low oil pressure on the gauge, put a mechanical gauge on the engine and check for oil pressure. If the oil pressure is 40 psi or higher, then the engine is fine and...
Diagnostic code P0721
Hi....the best thing to do is request a diagnostic based on the trouble code, P0721 (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0721-obd-ii-trouble-code-output-speed-sensor-range-performance-by-valerie-johnston), that you have in hand. Resolve that first as the fault behind the trouble code may account for the shift difficulty you are having....
When should I replace a motor mount on a 2004 kia optima?
Hello. The motor mounts on vehicles in general should be inspected every 50,000 miles. I've seen motor mounts become excessively worn on vehicles with as low as 30,000 miles so it wouldn't be a surprise if yours are due for...

Hello, thank you for writing in. Something is wrong with the sensor on the latch for the trunk. Scan the vehicle for diagnostic codes to see if anything comes up. You can check the wiring directly to the sensor and...
