Q: I need to know which body wiring harness goes to my truck- VIN lookup

asked by on January 05, 2017

My original question:

My 98 K2500 pickup has some wiring issues. I actually described it in another question back in October, but that's when I was going to replace individual burnt wires. Now I just want to replace the whole chassis wiring harness. There are so many different part numbers and diagrams, I'm very confused. I need the wire cluster that goes along the inside of the frame rail, next to the gas tank, and goes to the fuel pump and the tail lights. The front connects to a few different spots under the hood and also into the dash, I believe. Can you give me a specific name or part number for this wire cluster? Thank you.

The mechanic that answered said he needs the VIN to figure out which harness I need. The VIN is 1GCGK24R3WZ195304. If someone can tell me the part number, I'd appreciate it.

My car has 175000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

My heater seems to blow hotter when I'm driving versus when it's sitting at idle or at a stop light. Also the heater takes too long to heat up the cabin department. Why?
Hi there. When your vehicle is in motion and driving down the road, then engine coolant temperature tends to get hotter on the engine before it gets to the radiator, so the heater will naturally heat up more when driving...
New power steering pump still hard to turn with white smoke and fluid leaking
Hello. Can you tell where the power steering fluid leak (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/power-steering-fluid-is-leaking-inspection) is coming from? The smoke is likely just the power steering fluid burning off on the hot engine. The steering is likely hard because you are low on power...
Can I use Mobil 1 extended performance 5w-30 oil

I have no power at all. No dome light, no radio, nothing. I have replaced the alternator battery and starter and checked all fuses

Check the engine oil level. If low, that will contribute to engine noise such as ticking. The noise may be coming from the valve train and if so could be a consequence of the high miles on the engine. This...
An issue where my car is now misaligned, the car likes to sway side to side, when braking stops sway and almost aligns it back.
Hi Link. Thanks for the question tonight. One thing you might want to check is your wheel bearings, as damaged or loose wheel bearings can cause a 'floating' issue with the front end that tends to clear up when braking....
