Q: Throttle body

asked by on June 08, 2017

It recently started after I replaced the mass air flow sensor about two months ago. I sprayed throttle body cleaner, had weights on the gas pedal with the engine off to open the throttle. Somehow the weights fell and the throttle closed trapping a piece of towel inside. Not using my head I pushed the throttle open with my hand to retrieve the piece of towel. Could that had damaged the throttle? Maybe the position sensor? Since then, as I'm slowing down, my rpms take forever to go down and they hover around 1,500 rpms even when slowing down.

My car has 74000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Would coolant leak out of timing cover?
Coolant should not be leaking out of timing cover. You most likely have a water pump or hose leaking. The cooling system should be pressure tested to isolate and locate the leak.
