Hi. The liftgate to my 2012 Ford Escape has stopped working. When I opened the back window and was messing around with the latch, I now have the latch to the back windows stuck on Lock and can't get it unlocked to close my window now. What can I do? Mechanic's Assistant: Is this your first time dealing with this issue? Yes Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far? This is the first time ive done anyting and it seems like I have messed it up further or I just don't know how to move the latch so that I can shut the back window. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? I'm messing with the back window because I can't get my door to open consistently, something has gone out on it apparently.

Welcome to Just Answer I'm Chris aka Moose, I'm sorry you are having problems with your Escape. I will do my best to help you get this resolved. If I happen to be helping another or step away during our communication, please know I will follow up as soon as I am back available/online. I try to be online for about 10+ hours a day, midday and late-night shift. The latch jaws are not spring-loaded to open. The smashed weather seal helps to push the jaws open when the latch is released. Use a screwdriver in the latch to pull the jaws open while commanding the glass to open. This should open the jaws so they can lock onto the striker on the liftgate. Thank you for visiting Just Answer, I hope I was able to answer your question. If you need to follow up on this concern please use the reply button. If you like my answer please reply so I can mark your question complete. Moose

Third gear gone.
My guess is that the third gear synchronizer ring teeth are worn or broken. Doing some research indicates this is a fairly common problem with PT Cruisers. The gear teeth could also be broken, or shift fork could be damaged....
Fuel pump fuse overheats
If you have changed something in the system recently, that may be the cause. Otherwise, the fuel pump, and its wiring, needs to be checked; the problem is likely due to a faulty pump, or a short in the wiring,...
Engine makes a grinding noise when I try to crank it
This sounds like the starter is not engaging (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/starter-or-car-battery-how-to-diagnose-which-part-is-bad) the flywheel or the flywheel teeth are missing. I would try jumping the battery first to see if this makes a difference. If it does and the engine turns over okay...

Changing Transmission. Do I have to replace ball body module? - 2007 Mercedes Benz S550
Assuming you are talking about the valve body control module, the answer is typically yes. However, it depends on the situation and what specifically is wrong with your transmission. The Mercedes transmission in this generation is a very solid transmission...
Timing chain problem
Hello. This can be caused by a variety of things, timing chain (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/timing-chain-replacement) being one of them. However, there are many other reasons this may also happen, such as a faulty mass air flow sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/mass-airflow-sensor-replacement), fuel injection problems (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-injector-replacement),...
My car is kinda low, i drove over a puddle on my way home amd now it's moist under my car mats why? Is that cause it's too low? 2011 BMW 328i
Hi there - while it's possible that water intruded driving "over" a puddle, this seems unlikely in an age of quality, well-sealed cars. The immediate smell also suggests this is not water, but perhaps engine coolant leaking from the heater...
Rear passenger side wheel completely locked up.
