Q: Does this car have a PCV valve?

asked by on October 31, 2016

I was wondering of a 2002 pontiac grand am se have a pcv valve?
My car has an automatic transmission.

All cars that have internal combustion engines have Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valves. On your car, the PCV valve is at the top of the engine in the valve cover. It is pressed into a rubber grommet. You will see a rubber ventilation hose attached to the PCV valve with the other end of the hose attached to a stub on the air intake system. If the PCV valve on your car needs service, feel free to contact YourMechanic for assistance at your home or office.

Humming sound when AC on
If the noise gets louder when you accelerate and goes away with the A/C off then the problem is with the internal bearings within the A/C compressor itself. You should have the A/C compressor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ac-compressor-replacement) checked and replaced if noise...

Random misfire cylinder 123
I'm curious as to what codes are still active. Is it still a misfire code? Several other component failures can cause "misfire" issues - a clogged exhaust gas recirculation valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/exhaust-gas-recirculation-egr-valve-replacement), a failed diverter valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/air-diverter-valve-replacement), even a failed cam...

idler pulley
I think you mean the a/c compressor is seized and not the condenser. You will need to get an a/c compressor bypass kit and the compressor can then be removed and a pulley in its place. The problem is these...
