I have a 2005 dodge grand caravan engine has 95000 miles. Auto code reader showed codes P0344 & P0329 , car stalls, hard to start and runs rough .could it be sensors or something more serious? Mechanic's Assistant: Is the check engine light on? Does the Dodge stall at idle or when driving? Check engine is on ,stalls at idle Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Grand Caravan yourself? What have you tried so far? Taking it to a repair shop, checked [battery](/topics-battery-dodge/) connections

Welcome to JustAnswer Mechanical Support! I am AutoExpert20 and I will be Investigating and Supporting your question today. I understand it can be really frustrating when your auto is not working an expected but don't worry as I am here to help! I may need further information, however, if required I will let you know! Sorry to hear your having issues with your vehicle I will try to assist you. Looking at the information you have provided It would appear you could have a faulty camshaft sensor I would check the connections are clean and the pins are not damaged or bent then it is possible you might need to replace the sensor. The P0329 code I think you have the last number incorrect as this code I dont recognise here is some information on the P0344 code below. P0344 code information - This is a generic powertrain diagnostic trouble code (DTC), which means it covers all makes/models starting around 2003. The code seems more common on Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Jeep, BMW, and Acura vehicles, but any make vehicle can be affected. Specific troubleshooting steps will vary depending on the vehicle. These vehicles can have a single camshaft in block, or a single (SOHC) or dual (DOHC) overhead camshafts, but this code is strictly concerned about the incoming signal from the camshaft position sensor(s) from Bank 1 being missing at some point when it is not supposed to be. This is an electrical circuit fault, and it is intermittent in nature. It is not there all the time. Bank #1 is the bank of the engine that contains cylinder #1. The PCM uses the Camshaft Position Sensor to tell it when the Crankshaft Sensor signal is correct, when a given Crankshaft Position Sensor signal is timed to Cylinder #1 for timing, and it is also used for [fuel injector](/topics-fuel-injector-dodge/) synchronization / start of injection. Codes P0340 or P0341 may also be present at the same time as the P0344. The only difference between these 3 codes is how long the problem lasts and the type of electrical problem that the sensor/circuit/engine controller is having. Troubleshooting steps may vary depending upon manufacturer, type of camshaft position sensor and wire colors. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0344 engine code may include: Check Engine Light on Intermittent bucking or surging Intermittently Dies out, but will immediately restart Potential Causes Typically the causes for this code are: Intermittent open in the power supply circuit to the camshaft position sensor Intermittent short to ground in the power supply circuit to the camshaft position sensor Intermittent open in the ground circuit to the camshaft position sensor Intermittent open in the signal circuit to the camshaft position sensor Intermittent short to 5 volts in the signal circuit to the camshaft position senso Intermittent short to ground in the signal circuit to the camshaft position sensor Camshaft Position Sensor tone ring damage Occasionally-Crankshaft Position Sensor producing intermittent signals

I had the oil changed about 1000 miles before this started ,could that have something to do with it?
Automotive Expert
I would not have thought it is anything to do with it.

The second code is P0339. Could it be just the sensor ,wiring or something more serious in the engine?
Automotive Expert
If your vehicle has a stored **code P0339** , it means that the powertrain control module (PCM) detected an intermittent or erratic voltage signal from the secondary crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Engine speed (RPM) and crankshaft position are monitored using the CKP sensor. The crankshaft sensor is more common for failing and that would be the first I would replace if I was guessing but it would require testing and checking the wiring connections are clean and dry etc.

How do I adjust the rearview mirror?
Every time you drive, you should adjust the rearview mirror. The rearview mirror is an important safety feature that allows you to see what vehicles are behind you. To adjust the rearview mirror, use your hand to change the angle...
Need to fix Check Engine light.
The powertrain control module (PCM) turns on the check engine light when it detects a problem in one of the onboard systems. At the same time it also stores a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). These codes help technicians diagnose problems...
Low idle and stalling
Hi there. This is a problem that comes up often on this engine. It is typically caused by a failing idle control valve or a dirty throttle body. If the throttle body is dirty then that will typically cause the...
My car died while driving it
In this case, it sounds like your battery (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-replacement) or alternator (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/alternator-replacement) is failing. If you'd like to get this fixed, certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, will be able to diagnose your stalling issue (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/car-is-stalling-inspection) to determine the exact...
