asked by on February 27, 2018

I was driving and some garbage got stuck underneath my car and the check engine light came on right away. I took it to auto zone so i can get a code and came up with p0411 secondary air injection system incorrect flow detected. I checked it out and some wiring got burnt those wired are connected to something but I don't know what exactly maybe the air pump because it gave me that p0411 code. I took pictures if I can send them so u can look and help me come up with the name of that part so i can buy and fix it asap. Thanks

My car has 146000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

It will be best to repair the wiring first (be sure the wiring is actually damaged though and not just dirty) and then test the circuit as needed. That step alone may restore operation of the air injection system. Even if you were to send a photo of a part that won’t help you. Any part, circuit, or system referred to in a trouble code must be individually tested to determine if a fault actually exists there or is perhaps elsewhere, indeed often in systems in the vehicle that have nothing to do with the code. Never replace a part just because it is included in a code; you will inevitably end up replacing lots of perfectly good parts. Again, your best bet is to first repair the known, indeed clearly visible, deficiencies, that is the wiring. Once that is done, erase the code and see what happens. If you want the required wiring repairs and thence diagnostic steps (if required, after the wiring repairs) performed by a certified Mechanic, dispatched by YourMechanic right to your location, please request a Check Engine Light diagnostic.
