First I put a used one in and I had a problem with no power. So I put in a new one and it ran perfect for about 3 days and then it started bogging out on the freeway

You may have a wiring harness issue here then. Have you checked the powers and grounds to the ECM?

Simply battery voltage with the key on. It shouldn't be more than a few tenths of a volt lower than the battery voltage.
Ground should be less than 2 ohms of resistance to the negative terminal of the battery.
Is this a 5.3?

Here is the wiring diagram. Check all wires labeled:
1. GND-ground to negative terminal of battery-less than 2 ohms
2. IGN-key on power-should be whatever the battery voltage is
3. B+ power at all times key off
