Q: P0414 code

2003 BMW 325 Ci keeps throwing a P0414 code any suggestion

My car has 128660 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi There, Code P0414 relates to the vehicle’s secondary air injection system which is a system that pumps air into the car’s exhaust system to reduce emissions by way of accelerating the catalyst in the catalytic converter. When the ECM detects more than a 10% fluctuation in the amount of air being pumped in, this will cause the code to trigger and be stored. This can happen when the pump is faulty or in some cases when the wiring to the pump is faulty. I would suggest having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and repair the vehicle.
