Q: 2001 Mercury Sable, 125,000 miles give or take. It is suspected that the tranny speed sensor is at fault. Automatic, 6 cylinder

asked by on October 02, 2017

V6 engine - the car would not shift while driving and the RPMs according to the tachometer hit 6,000. This happened only once about a week ago. My research indicates that the VSS is starting to behave intermittently, the with code the computer is reporting as such. So, what is the average cost of the sensor including the labor to replace it?

Thank you, Ron
