I had a great experience with Your Mechanic and Chet – both were easy to work with and delivered on the promise of high quality car maintenance. Chet arrived on time, had all of the required tools, parts, and equipment to do the work, and was very knowledgeable. Answers to common BMW 3.0CS questions

Q: BMW 330d Rattling-Hissing Sound from exhaust side
Answered by Tim
Hey there. Thanks for writing in today about the rattling / hissing sound coming from your 2004 BMW. I experienced a similar issue and it was in fact a vacuum leak (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/is-it-safe-to-drive-with-a-vacuum-leak). However, there are several other symptoms of a...
Q: Car will start with key, but wipers, windows, and locks are not working
Answered by Andrew
Hi, thanks for writing in. This sounds like one of two issues: a faulty alternator (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-alternator) or an electrical system issue. Your alternator may not be sending sufficient voltage to the electrical system, causing your vehicles accessories to play dead....
Q: Idles between 500rpm and 1300 rpm. Main concern is low rpm. Belt or pulley chirping mainly at low rpm Drives perfect but Idles bad
Answered by Jessica
Chances are these two symptoms are related. If the drive belt is not performing as designed the engine will run poorly, or not run at all. There are several components that could be the problem, and further inspection is needed....
Q: Battery light is on and car has no power steering
Answered by James
If the Battery Light is illuminated and the battery passes a load test, then you most likely have a faulty alternator; a charging system test would need to be performed to verify this. On the 2001 540i, the power steering...

Trusted by thousands of happy car owners

Very impressed with the quality of work. Ned was on time and on budget. There were no surprise extra costs. Ned even helped me out with my other car, even though I didn't have an appointment for the other car. He took care of all of my car problems and he even found me a coupon for an oil change. I will be using this service again.

Yourmechanic.com is a woman's prayered answered. My stress was zero. I didn't have to drop off the car and wait for an outrageous quote from the corner mechanic. I was able to schedule and know the price immediately. I will use yourmechanic.com from now on. If you are in the Las Vegas area. I recommend requesting Scott Franklin. He goes above and beyond customer service.

Stephen was very professional and spoke to me in terms that I understood. Although the news about the car was not great, he explained the why's and what it would take to fix it. I will call on him again. Many thanks!
