Q: Windows not going up or down

asked by on February 24, 2016

Three of my windows won't go up or down: the front driver's side and both rear windows.

Hi there. Since multiple windows are not rolling up or down, this rules out the window motors. The parts that require attention are the window switch themselves. Your master switch or each individual window switch may not be working properly. I’d suggest having a certified mechanic sent by YourMechanic come to your residence and correctly diagnose your window issue and replace the window switch if necessary.

Oil still leaking after I changed oil filter
Unless there is an imperfection (e.g., serious pitting or irregularities) on the engine mounting base for the filter gasket, the leak is probably not at the filter. There are other adjacent potential leak spots such as the oil pan gasket,...

I completely drained my auto battery by holding it upside down and shaking it. I thought fresh distilled water was ok to refill.
Hi Bill. Thanks for writing in tonight. Older batteries could be 'recharged' by distilled water as you've indicated, but that is unfortunately not a viable option with today's technology. The best solution here is to buy a new battery unfortunately....
