Q: Where is the map sensor on a 2001 Montero Sport

asked by on

i dont know where the map senser is

My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello - the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is located on top of the intake manifold, in the middle. This will be between the valve cover and the firewall that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment. It’s a small black plastic sensor, with 2 small bolts, and a clip-on wiring attachment. For assistance, I recommend a MAP sensor replacement performed by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs.
