asked by on

My truck wont start the anti-theft light keeps staying on it doesn't do anything else when i called the wrecker he did something with key remote and it turned on i need to know what to do
My car has an automatic transmission.

There are temporary fixes but ultimately the immobilizer system, referred to by Ford as the PATS system, will have to be troubleshooted. Temporarily, utilize these instructions. If you request service for a permanent resolution, the mechanic will attempt to determine if the issue is key related or involves the PATS module (system controller). In addition, a Ford scanner might be employed to re-set the system although sometimes disconnecting the battery for a long enough period will work. More specific advice depends on exactly where in the PATS system the fault lies. That can only be determined by an on-site diagnostic. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you.
