The gear lights illuminating all at once indicates that a fault has been picked up by the transmission control module. The fact that you are in limp mode and cannot accelerate means its likely a serious issue. Your next step would be having the vehicle scanned by a VW compatible scan tool to see what code has set in the transmission control module and decide on a repair path from there. If you get me the code i can advise a bit further.
