Q: Transmission problem?

I am experiencing a problem that occurs frequently but not ever time I push on the gas the car will not "go" it's as though it is in neutral but it is in drive. I can push the gas all the way in with no response, no reving from the engine .... nothing. Any suggestions?

My car has 98000 miles.
