Hi there. I'm pretty sure I've blown a head or something in the engine as the oil is watery and there are bubbles coming through the coolant and it turns out the air filter is doused in oil. I tried driving it once for about 20 mins before it overheated and I was forced to tow it. I understand I will probably need to scrap it but would be keen to hear what you have to say. Cheers Rupert Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the coolant? Have you checked for a leak in the cooling system? No I have not Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2002 Subaru impreza Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Impreza yourself? What have you tried so far? Noisy steering, is it a dangerous problem?
Noisy steering is usually indicative of defective fluid, unless you have a leak and are low on fluid. In your case, I would recommend having a top-rated mechanic from YourMechanic run a power steering pump pressure-test (https://www.yourmechanic.com/book/?mktg_jid=193) and check the...
Steering wheel stuck

Reverse lights come on when I start the engine
Hello. It is possible that the reverse light wiring is faulty, or that the light bulb sockets are damaged in some way. However, it is more likely that there is an issue with the neutral safety switch (https://www.yourmechanic/com/services/neutral-safety-switch-replacement), and it...
Car won't turn over and brake and gear shifter won't move
The most likely cause is in the shifter. Possibly a broken shifter bushing or shifter cable. Possible causes are the ignition switch (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/ignition-switch-replacement) or shifter interlock (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/shifter-interlock-solenoid-replacement). Your vehicle is a Chevy Trailblazer badged as an Isuzu. For these vehicles...

I have a 2000 Chevy blazer won't go in 4wD.

My car won't start but it's not the alternator or battery
The problem sounds like a loose connection in the fuse box to battery cable connections. Check the cables for loose or corroded connections at battery clamps and ground connections on body and engine. If problem continues then have a mechanic...
Radiator, cooling system leaks 2006 Nissan Murano
Hello - sounds like the problem is getting worse! Current-day radiators (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-radiator-last) utilize plastic end tanks, assembled on aluminum cores(the shiny fins running across the front of the engine compartment). This assembly inevitably starts to leak over time. I recommend...
Master Cylinder failure, for a second time. Why? 2011 Nissan Altima
Hi there - I believe your master cylinder failure is being misdiagnosed. I believe the problem is with the brake booster (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-replace-a-power-brake-booster) - one of the control valves (vacuum?) to be specific. If this valve malfunctions, it could allow much...
