I have a 2003 Ford Escape XLT, V6, 178,987 miles on it.
Problem: -The SUV has not overheated yet but it only takes .5 miles or 1 minute to warm up according to the gage on the dashboard. The car will also blow hot air by then as well. -The SUV also has a rough idle when it first turns on, it goes away once the car is moving but will continue to happen when the I have to stop. To get the SUV to not idle roughly I have to put it in neutral when I am a light or stop sign. This will help but the car will give a few hard knocks that a spaced over about 20 seconds.
-The rough idle has been going on for two months now, I have driven it maybe 100 miles since it started. The heating issue just started 4 days ago.
What I have replaced since the issue accord: -Spark Plugs (all 6 with Iridium) -Boots (all 6) -Coils(all 6) -Mass Airflow Sensor -Throttle Position Sensor -Ideal Air Control Valves -Cleaned Throttle Body -Coolant Flush -New 50/50 Coolant
My car has 179000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
