Q: Rear end compatibility

asked by on

Is it 2001 GMC Sonoma rear end compatible with a 2004 GMC envoy

Since the two vehicles are 3 years apart and two different models of vehicles I would have to say they are not the same. You would need to match the tags on the rear covers on each one to see if the gears match. You can have the same rear housing, but with different axles and gears along with different wheel offsets. If you need to have anything looked at, a technician from YourMechanic can come to your car’s location to perform services on your car.
