Q: Overheating and heater not working

asked by on February 26, 2017

I was driving home tonight when I noticed the car would only blow hot air at certain times. Even though the engine was warm it only blew hot air when my RPMs were near 3000. So I continue driving and notice the temp gauge creeping up pretty quickly. I turned off the heater, and the temp dropped to normal for about 4 minutes then it shot up again. I immediately parked it. Any help is very appreciated

My car has 115000 miles.
