Q: Oil light doesn't go away

asked by on

I had my oil changed and I did the reset for the oil change indicator to go away and it hasn't

My car has 39879 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello there. If the oil light that you are referring to is the oil change warning light, it might be possible that a code is stuck in the ECU, which is why completing the manual reset may not be working. In order to resolve this problem, you’ll have to contact a local mechanic to complete a warning light inspection; where the mechanic will download the stored error code and reset it.
