I received a message saying the esp is having as issue. And the check engine light came on. Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light stay on, or does it blink? Stays on. Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 06 MB E-350 Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far? It just happened. If I can fix it myself that would be great. Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? No, I don’t.

Kevin, the first place to start is with purchasing or using a Mercedes benz capable scanner. The iCarsoft MBv2.0 or MBII are great options for the price. but anytime we get errors on the dash the first thing that needs done is checking for fault codes in the modules of the warnings you see on the dash. everything is fixable, all depends on how much you can do outside of the dealer. some things only the dealer can do.

Good information. I'll see if I can locate a scanner that's mb compatible.
Automotive Expert
it has to be one that does more than OBD2 and more than just SRS/[ABS](/topics-abs-mercedes/)/CEL although that can be a start since your issue is with tractions and engine.

Automotive Expert
but definitely have to have a decent one, your car has 30+ modules, so its very important to have a decent quality one. when you locate one and get codes, let me know and I can surely direct you to the fix. Lou

Will do and thank you.
Automotive Expert
The brands that can do this are Snap-on Matco Autel Autologic iCarsoft Foxwell One of those that are labeled more than just an OBD scanner are what is needed. no problem , I will await the codes. Lou
Automotive Expert
